Résumé

Positive feedback were collected:

Ms. Wong has a remarkably patient and positive disposition which when coupled with her games-based, full-learning style of teaching, makes her a favored and well-loved teacher. Though our family has chosen not to pursue the usual "examination path", Ms. Wong has taught all our children with the utmost professionalism and attention, along with cheerfulness.

Rachel makes the lessons fun and age-appropriate by playing games with her and always offering words of encouragement.

Miss Wong has served in this choir as principle organist from 2004 to 2016 with outstanding professionalism, commitment and humour. Her excellent interpersonal and communication skills on top of her pleasant personality have made all rehearsals and performances extremely enjoyable. As a self-employed music professional, devoting Sundays to church choir over such an extensive period of time in the early stage of her career is really admirable.

Rachel Wong

Miss Rachel believes each music student has their own unique qualities, strengths, weaknesses, characters, short term and long term goals, as well as expectations. She conducts her lessons with a tailor-made approach in meeting each individual condition. This approach has been applicable to her students at the ages from 4 to 60, who range from beginners to RCM grade 10 (at ABRSM grade 8).
Every student likes encouragement and motivation at learning, not suppressed. Many music learners do not have a chance to learn the instrument joyfully. Some are unable to play music they like, and unwillingly to achieve a high goal. What is the approach of Miss Rachel? It’s ARCS.
– Academic achievement is a main concern and indispensable to many students. The level of music knowledge, performance techniques and enjoyment from lessons are interdependent to students’ accomplishment.
– Recitals organized by Miss Rachel yearly provide a formal performance opportunity in building up students’ confidence and sense of achievement. Music loses its mission without an audience.
– Competitions and festivals are good opportunities to enable students to understand their standard in comparison to other piano learners. Some of Miss Rachel’s students obtained impressive results over the years.
– Systematic approach of piano pedagogy was developed by Miss Rachel for beginners, intermediate and advanced level students. It covers score reading, ear training, sight reading, music appreciation, music analysis, musicianship and interpretation.
We hope that all music learners could enjoy and blossom along the music learning process genuinely. It is a lifelong gift.
“Music is a more potent instrument than any other for education because rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul.” Plato.
